45 Weeks

Guys.  I'm caught up on these pictures!  Silas turned 45 weeks yesterday and I'm actually posting it today!  Huzzah!  Maybe now I can actually work on posting something other than my adorable baby's face.  Although, it doesn't get much better, my friends.

I feel like this kid's brain and hair have been growing by leaps and bounds of late.  He signed "please" a few times this week and will pat his head on command.  Sniff.  So proud!  Another first, my husband's co-worker Patrick, fed him his first taste of ice cream (thanks for ruining my kid's life, man), but he actually wasn't thrilled about it.  I'm sure if we'd given him another chance...  He's got too much of his mama in him to stay away from sugar for long!  Aaaaand he also got his first bruise this week!  Right over his cute baby eye.  I won't linger here as the person who is under the impression that she's responsible for his dive from a foot stool, feels terrible...  The first of very very many, I'm sure!

44 Weeks

Si Guy got his seventh tooth this week!  He's like a little baby piranha.  Maybe he's trying to make up for his lack of crawling by producing teeth like a champ...

43 Weeks

Si visited the beach for the first time this week.  Big fan of sand.  And tiny shovels.  He wasn't really dressed to get wet, so we'll save the water for next time.  Something to look forward to, my man.

42 Weeks

Silas celebrated his 42 Weekiversary at my bestie's home in Fort Riley, Kansas.  Her husband recently graduated from law school here in Birmingham and was stationed at Fort Riley this spring.  We could just pause here and discuss the gigantic gaping hole this has caused in my life, buuut we should probably move along.  We surprised Jamie's socks right off by showing up on her doorstep a few weeks ago.  Anthony returned home after a few days (somebody's gotta bring home the bacon around here!) while Silas and I stayed for over a week.  Good times were had.

This week Si started a teensy bit of army crawling (how appropriate), but still would rather just hang out...totally fine with me.  Immobility = fewer head-long tumbles down stairs and fewer fingers stuck in electrical outlets.

41 Weeks

We're falling a bit behind in getting these pictures posted!  Busy having a fantastically wonderful summer...lots of travel and things of that nature.  I've got the pictures, though, so I'll be sure to catch you up!  This week's picture was taken at our good friends John and Ashli Bontrager's home in St. Louis, Missouri.  Of course, I bought an adorable 4th of July-esque fabric for this week, but forgot to bring it on our trip.  Ah well...a pack n play pad works.

Silas welcomed his fifth and sixth teeth this week - on the bottom.  I'm thankful he's such an easy-going teether.  I don't really know they're coming until I see them!  He wears a Baltic Amber teething necklace and uses Hyland's natural teething tablets, but who knows...they may do nothing.  Except make me feel better ;)

Gestationiversary

The only thing I truly enjoyed about being past the 40 week mark with Silas, was the look of horror on people's faces when I answered their question of "When are you due?".  Pretty highly enjoyable.  They usually kinda backed up a little when I answered...I guess so my baby wouldn't drop out and land on their new shoes.  But hey.  I'd be tempted to do the same if I ran into a woman who looked like this.

Large and in charge, y'all (I'm on my way to the hospital at this point...)

So here's my little sweet face after I grew him for 40 weeks and 6 days.

And here he is having been out and about for 40 weeks and 6 days.

Sniff.  Time's a flyin'.
