I will revel

I'm avoiding thinking about Christmas for several reasons:
  • I haven't thought about (much less purchased) a single gift
  • I'm not looking forward to convincing Anthony to put up our outdoor lights that I so excitedly bought on clearance after Christmas last year
  • I haven't made the family calendar that I'm in charge of this year
  • And mostly because I LOVE fall - and I will revel in it as long as possible.
These are all reasons why I'm avoiding Christmas thoughts.  Instead I am posting our pumpkin carving pictures with pride on this third day of November.  Also, I may be a procrastinator.

JP, Jamie and Karlie came over to get in on the fun.  Here's how it went down:

You may be wondering why my pumpkin has a giant gash in the side.  Maybe the real question you should be asking yourself is, why would someone (like, JP for example) throw a pumpkin over the seat of his car.  Just thought we should clear that up.  No hard feelings here.

Here they are in all their glory.  Anthony's is the MLB logo (of course), mine is the candle (which I thought was a great idea until I realized next to everyone else's is super boring), Karlie's (which Jamie helped her out with a little) is Minnie Mouse, and JP's is Captain America's shield.  We did these this past Friday night, and now they're already sitting in a rotten heap with our trash.  Lovely thought.  They were adorable while they lasted!

Anyone else whip out their ninety-seven cent carving sets this year?

  1. I too feel the same way about Christmas....haven't even given it a single thought. I heart Fall...and can't even think that far ahead. let alone Christmas shopping/making gifts/cards/baking/crafts/etc.

...I too am a procrastinator with many things....I've decided that it might be a good idea to take the Halloween decorations down this weekend. Halloweens over, already...sigh.
